Anthony Jay Tafolla is a San Antonio based screenprinter born in Dallas,Tx and raised in the Rio Grande Valley Weslaco, Tx. He received his Bachelors of Fine Art in Art at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2019 and has continued to screenprint in his home studio. Anthony's current body of work envelops memories from when he was a child and reduces them in to the very object that has triggered the memory ie; Jumex drinks, Valentina Hot sauce, and a variety of mexican style candies and snacks. Shortly after his enthusiasm for Pop Art begins to take the stage as he crops, colors, posterizes, and adds patterns to the very item he has chosen. Finally, he hand prints every layer with carefully mixed inks that he has curated over the years
