Benjamin Sorrell is a Corpus Christi born, Austin-based printmaker and textile artist who focuses on creative reuse, garment making and mending, quilting and more with printmaking integrated to the practice. All of Benjamin's materials are vintage and secondhand, often discarded fabrics and clothes given new life in the art making process. Benjamin's print work is motivated by many (often disconnected) distractions, but follows a trend toward statement images for patching, or abstract form and color relationships, translating the visual density of fabric patchwork into colorful woodblock prints.
